Southampton Hospital Group Update

Southampton General Website

My thanks to everyone who turned out for the volunteers training on Tuesday night. Thanks as well to Kim, Dan and Joyce for giving up their valuable time to run the event. My hands have never been so clean.

Kim has provided date for future events if you couldn’t make the 27th, these are general event not specifically for Scouts.

Please contact Kim Sutton if you wish to attend, her e mail is kim.sutton@uhs.nhs.uk; please cc me as well.

The dates are

11th February 9am-1pm

4th June 5pm-8.30pm

22nd September 1pm-4pm

Vanessa and I are meeting with Joyce on Tuesday afternoon to start planning the logistics of the first meeting and see if our safeguarding training means that a further course is not necessary.

Just to remind you that we have a programme planning meeting on Monday 9th February. It’s at 7.30pm at Bevois Town School Cedar Road, Southampton,SO14 6RU. Please let me know if you plan to attend for catering purposes.

I’ve tried to order some polo shirts with the teddy bear logo on it but the Tesco’s website is currently down.

Based on what Kim said about nothing below the elbow, we will probably adopt short neckers for the Leaders. Royal Blue, to match the badge, with a thin white border is the current favourite.

On Saturday I attended a County meeting and learnt how to put things on the County website, so we will soon be having our own webpage. There is also a plan to later ensure that all new postings on the website are automatically forwarded to a face book and twitter account. If that is to techie for you, I’ll also be sending out emails whenever there is a new posting.

Finally if you know of anyone who is interested in any of the non leader roles, please let me know.

That’s it for now, thank you for your support.

John
