Archery – Adventurous Activity Permit

As of 1 January 2016 the rules regarding running archery changed. Archery now falls under the Adventurous Activity Permit scheme and those running archery will need to apply for a permit.

The County has now appointed several assessors in archery in light of the changes to running archery activities. For those holding an Archery GB qualification i.e. GNAS Community Sports Leaders Award or Instructor Award or equivalent/higher then you can now apply for an activity permit. If you hold either of these qualifications and have up to date logged experience, then no practical assessment is likely to be required. Please email a copy of your qualification, your log book and a completed Activity Permit Application Form (ADACTPERMIT) to

For more details on the rules, guidance and the activity permit assessment criteria for archery at the A-Z Activity Directory.

For those that don’t hold the appropriate qualification then opportunities to get training and/or a practical assessment will be available soon. As soon as the dates and venues are confirmed these will be circulated.
