Beaver Scouts Trip to Paultons Park 2017
9th July 2017, 4:21pm

Saturday 14th or Sunday 15th October (your choice)

Paultons Park, Ower near Romsey

Booking is open now (with a simpler version of the system used for Beaver Scout Camp) and closes on Friday 15th September.

As previously announced after 11 very successful years at Paultons Park the time has come for some changes. As you will no doubt have noticed the park has expanded massively, not least with their recent Lost Kingdom additions. Due to this and their keenness to offer a calendar full of variety there is no longer room for a Christmas Beaver Scout visit. This is mainly due to maintenance as areas of the park have to close earlier and the short gap between Halloween and our usual visit date.

We have instead agreed on the alternate of an October trip and to offer the chance to even more Beaver Scouts there is a choice of Saturday 14th or Sunday 15th October. The price will be £16.50 per person but with the added advantage of a 1:6 ratio of free leader tickets to paid Beaver Scouts and the whole park (with minor exceptions) due to be open including Magma, The Edge and Cobra. It is also possible for Annual Pass holders to use their pass with just a £1 contribution towards the badge (extra badges can be ordered in advance too for £1 each).

The park is open 10:30 – 17:00 each day. While I don’t think we’ll hit it there is a limit on bookings for each day so make sure you book as early as you can to avoid disappointment. Again the trip is a colony trip rather than a family day but this doesn’t mean you can’t use parents to bolster your leadership team and Young leaders aged 16+ count as responsible adults for ride ratios too. We will also have extra Young Leaders on hand to support the ratios on rides too so you don’t have to do Kobra 17 times!

Booking is open now at http://paultons2017.hampshirescouts.org.uk (with a simpler version of the system used for Beaver Scout Camp) and closes on Friday 15th September. The School holidays get in the middle of this so please get this information out as soon as possible! Payment will be possible by PayPal, BACS or Cheque and will be handled by County Office rather than Paultons Park this year.

Don’t forget the competition for Beaver Scouts to design this year’s badge closes on July 31st – Details at http://www.hampshirescouting.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Paultons-Badge-Design-Competition.pdf
