James / Captain Ketch sets off again

Our Hampshire Scouts Ambassador has challenged himself to row solo, non-stop and unsupported around the coast of Great Britain, a distance of almost 2,000 miles. A feat that has not yet been achieved by anyone.

The row starts on Saturday 25th June 2016 at London’s iconic Tower Bridge. James will row clockwise around Great Britain with an expected completion time of two months.

Circumnavigating Great Britain as a solo rower is extremely difficult, as the concentration and seamanship skills required to navigate and read the conditions are of paramount importance. James will drop an anchor to rest, as he cannot touch land at any point during his time at sea, and will use the tides to assist him.
