You are cordially invited to the first HSX Antarctica Summer Fundraising Gala 2016 at the University of Southampton on Saturday 18th June.
The team would like you to join them for a night of food, fun and fundraising. Listen and enjoy as our host HUW JAMES introduces you to the world of Polar exploration, talks you through the team’s preparations to-date and shows you how they plan to succeed during the hardest endurance challenge on Earth.
In 2018, the team will ski unsupported, 700 miles across the Antarctic Plateau. In temperatures as low as -50 degrees and wind speeds of up to 80mph they will march for 60 days in perpetual daylight to their eventual goal; the Amundsen-Scott Research Station at the Geographic South Pole. During their relentless journey, they aim to inspire with tales of perseverance, determination and teamwork and raise awareness for their chosen charity: the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
After a drinks reception on arrival overlooking the landscaped gardens of the University, you’ll enjoy a freshly-prepared two-course meal in Garden Court. This will be followed by a fundraising auction, featuring a host of exciting prizes! (TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!) The evening will then round off with music, dancing and a bar until midnight! (This is an 18+ only event.)
All money raised will contribute towards the Antarctica 2018 expedition; tickets are £45 and can be purchased via Eventbrite Thanks for your support so far, the Team look forward to seeing you on the 18th!
