Hampshire Scouting was very sad to hear that Eric Burrell passed away earlier this week. He had been unwell for a while, but his passing was still a shock to everyone who knew him.
Eric started the 8th Bramshill (Frogmore Green) Scout Group in 1974, as part of the original Odiham District, and thousands of young people have benefited from Scouting over the years.
In 1989 after fundraising for many years, the Group finally completed their dream of building their own HQ building, naming it the “Burrell Lodge” after Eric. With this, his name will continue for many years to come – and his legacy lives on through Frogmore Green Scout Group.
Eric’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 4th December at Aldershot Crematorium, starting at 11:30am. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children and grandchildren, and also with his many friends and Scouting colleagues.
