Change in Compass timescales
25th May 2014, 5:23pm

The timescales for Compass going live with adult data have been brought forwards.

Headquarters have changed the migration process and timescales for moving from the existing membership system to Compass to overcome issues in migrating adult data.

The current timescales from Headquarters are that at the end of July/early August, all adult and existing youth data will be migrated from the existing system to Compass. The existing membership system will be switched off and therefore not accessible from this point. These timescales are dependant on Compass completing User Acceptance Testing satisfactorily. This is due to start this week.

Appointment Secretaries and other managers who use the membership system will need to start using Compass from early August. At this point, we have no information about what training systems will be available, however a comprehensive set of easy to use user guides have been created for different role functions.

Clearly, we need to ensure that the existing data in the membership system is as clean as possible by the end of July and it is essential that the current work on adding default locations to existing adult’s records is completed before then.

We will retain the previous migration date of the beginning of October for the transfer of youth data from Online Scout Manager. This will require leaders to export the data from OSM to a spreadsheet and then upload it to a secure web site. Further details will be provided nearer the time.

Any updates to these timescales will be communicated as soon as we know them.
