Ginormous Teddy Bears Picnic 2018

Hampshire Beavers Scouts – Ginormous Teddy Bears Picnics 2018

Building on the success of the last 3 years of Picnics in the Park we are going for our biggest year in 2018. We have joined together with The Murray Parish Trust’s Ginormous Teddy Bears Picnic. Murray Parish Trust are raising money for The Murray Parish Trust #2MillionSteps campaign to help build the new Children’s Emergency & Trauma Department at Southampton University Hospital which serves central Southern England and the Channel Islands. This will be a ground-breaking major trauma unit with state of the art, life-saving equipment.

There will be the choice of our hosted picnics where you can join together with other Beaver Scouts from the county for fun and games or you can run your own; this could be a colony evening, a special day at the park or part of another event of camp! The cost is £2.50 per person to include an exclusive woggle, blanket badge and £1 to the charity.

Alice Holt, Farnham

Unfortunately we cannot proceed with the Alice Holt picnic at present. Please consider another hosted picnic or hosting your own. Sorry for any disappointment this will cause.

For all hosted Picnics Beavers should either be in uniform or group polos or similar (depending on weather) or with group neckers as a minimum. If any of the Beavers or leaders have any access or other requirements which may affect the day please make sure it is on the booking so everyone can have fun!

*Drop off and collection times may be staggered depending on numbers so don’t give parents specific times until they have been confirmed to you.

Self Hosted Picnics

If you can’t make it to one of our picnics you can run your own and still get badges and woggles! To guarantee getting your woggles and badges in time for the event we need your booking and payment at least 4 weeks ahead. If you’re planning a short notice picnic no worries, your just might get your badges and woggles after the event. The first batch of badges are due at the end of May. As long as you order for at least 8 people we’ll post it all to you for free! Why not join together with another colony or even district and share the fun! While the main month for events is June they can be earlier or later (though if they are too early we may not have badges yet) To book a self hosted picnic click here. The Woggles

We are using the same amazing supplier as in 2016 and there are more options this year!

Colours available: Black, Light Blue, Royal Blue, Light Brown, Dark Brown, Bright Green, Dark Green, Grey, Maroon, Orange, Red, Pink, Purple, Turquoise, White & Yellow

As the artwork is so big it looks better on a slider. These are the same high quality of leather and Look great on neckers. They work well on varying neckers as the holes are rather grippy.

The design is also available on more traditional loop woggles.

The image is in a striking holographic print and works well on most colours (it may not be as clear on lighter colours). The woggles are available in a wide range of colours to match lodge or colony colours or even just your favourite colour!

The badges

We now have the design of the blanket badge confirmed:

The only way to get the exclusive woggle and badge is come along to a picnic or run your own so what are you waiting for?

As ever if you have any questions let us know – michael.collins@hampshirescouts.org.uk
